How much does it cost to digitize a logo?
Published October 16, 2026
The short answer: a human digitizer typically charges US$10–20 per logo and delivers in 1 to 2 days. On logotoembroidery a design costs US$2.99, and you see how it stitches before you pay. The rest of this guide covers what goes into each price, what you get for it, and what the guarantee does and doesn't cover.

What you pay a human digitizer for
Time and judgment. A person decides the stitch type of every shape, the direction of the thread, the underlay, the order and how much to compensate for the fabric. Many price by size or stitch count, and some charge extra for rush jobs or for changes after the first version. For a large jacket back, a detailed crest, a cap sequenced for a cap frame, 3D puff or appliqué, that work is worth paying for, and it's work this service doesn't do.
What logotoembroidery costs
- Seeing the result: free. No sign-up and no payment to see the stitched preview and the verdict. Without an account, up to 15 designs a day.
- One design: US$2.99.
- A pack: 20 designs for US$40, which works out to US$2 each. They're credited to your purchase email, to use whenever you need them.
- No subscription, and no price per color or per stitch. The same price includes both formats, .PES and .DST.
Checkout is as a guest, with an email; the payment is handled by Lemon Squeezy. An account is optional: it's there for My designs, where you can download your purchases again, and you sign in with a 6-digit code sent by email, no password.
Put next to the market reference, a single design costs a fraction of what a person charges, and the pack brings it down further. That's digitizing at an affordable price for flat logos, without hiding when a logo is beyond what the engine can do.
What you get for the price
- The design as .PES and .DST, at the width you chose. The guide on embroidery file formats explains which one your machine reads.
- The thread list in order, which you'll need with the DST: that format doesn't store colors.
- The preview you already saw: real stitches in machine order, the stitch count and the size in millimeters. The file stitches what the preview showed.
What it doesn't include: an editable working file, a version tuned for a specific fabric or for caps, designs wider than 90 mm, or more than 6 colors.
Turnaround
With a person, the usual wait is 1 to 2 days, and each change adds another round. Here the result is computed while you wait, with the progress on screen; how long depends on the logo. Once you pay, the download is available as soon as the payment is confirmed, when you come back to the page.
What the guarantee covers
The guarantee is It stitches right or your money back. In practice:
- You have 14 days from the purchase.
- You ask through the refunds page with the email you bought with and what happened. No photo required.
- It refunds what you paid for the file, to the same payment method.
- It doesn't cover fabric, thread or garments, and it isn't a file replacement: it's a refund.
That's why a test stitch-out on a scrap of the same fabric comes before the real garment. The terms are in the terms of use.
Costs that exist whichever option you pick
- The test stitch-out: a scrap of fabric, stabilizer, thread and machine time.
- Color changes: each thread is a stop on every piece. Fewer colors means less machine time per garment.
- The wrong size: resizing a stitch file on the machine degrades it. Choose the right width before buying, in Adjust the design.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Seeing the result is free, always. The file costs US$2.99 per design, or US$40 for a pack of 20.
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay per design or per pack, once.
Do I pay separately for PES and DST?
No. Each purchase includes both.
What if my logo can't be stitched?
You find out before paying. The verdict shows which part is the problem and the width at which the logo comes out whole, so you can enlarge it, simplify it or take it to a digitizer.
Can I get a different file instead of a refund?
The guarantee is a refund, not a replacement. You can always adjust the design and generate it again before buying.
To try it, upload your logo and look at the stitched result; the full process is in the guide on how to convert a logo to an embroidery file.
