How to use it
logotoembroidery turns a logo into a machine-ready embroidery file, and tells you upfront how it will look stitched.
It doesn't replace your digitiser: it saves them the work of starting from scratch. It hands over a finished file, colours already separated and the stitch path already worked out, so they can refine it instead of digitising it again.
The three steps
1. Upload the logo
Open the link on your phone or computer and drag the image in, or tap to choose it. PNG or JPG both work.
Under Size and number of threads, pick your machine's hoop — 4×4, 5×7, 8×12, whichever you use. We ask once and remember it. That's the size the tool checks the logo against.
No sign-up and no payment needed to see the result.
2. Look at the result
In under a minute you'll see how it stitches — not your image, the actual stitches on fabric. Below it you'll see the finished size, the stitch count, and the thread list in the order the machine will ask for them.
If something won't come out like the artwork, it tells you right there and shows you where.
3. Download
- PES for Brother, Babylock and Bernina machines.
- DST for Tajima and industrial machines.
The DST file doesn't store colours. The thread list on screen is the only way to know which spool goes in at each step — write it down or take a photo of it.
What the result means
There are three possible answers, and it's worth knowing all three.
✓ Stitches exactly as-is
Comes out matching the artwork. Download it and send it to the machine.
≠ Stitches, with differences
Sews all the way through and looks good, but something won't match the artwork exactly. It's almost always one of these two:
- Two colours will come out as the same thread. Every colour means a manual spool change, so the file carries a fixed number of threads. If your logo has more colours than that, the closest ones get merged. The screen shows you which, side by side.
- Part of the artwork came in partly transparent — a shadow, a gradient, a watermark. That can't be stitched: thread is either there or it isn't, there's no half-thread. That part won't appear in the file.
Knowing what changes, you decide if it still works for you. Almost always it does.
! Can't be stitched like this
It can be sewn, but part of the artwork would be lost. Two reasons:
- Some part is too thin. Below a certain width the needle can't form a proper column of thread: it comes out as a loose, stray line, or the thread breaks outright.
- Two pieces sit so close together that the thread covers the gap between them. The pieces themselves come out fine; what disappears is the strip of fabric that was between them — the counter of a letter, the gap between two shapes. The screen shows it zoomed in, because at real size that gap isn't visible on any screen.
When this happens, the tool doesn't leave you stuck. It tells you the size where the logo starts fitting completely, and offers a version without the colour that's causing trouble so you can see it before deciding.
If something doesn't convince you: the Adjust button
Opens your logo as colour pieces and lets you change it before generating the file:
- Make it bigger or smaller. As you move the size, the result updates live and tells you the exact point where the logo starts fitting completely.
- Change the hoop, if you'll stitch it on a different machine.
- Merge two colours into one, to use fewer spools.
- Drop a whole colour, or tap a stray piece and remove it.
Every change recalculates the result instantly. When you like what you see, generate the file.
Before it goes to the machine
- Sew a test on a scrap of the same fabric before the real garment.
- The design fits the hoop you picked. If you switch machines, change the hoop above and the result recalculates on its own.
- If what comes out on fabric doesn't match what the screen showed, send us a photo: that's exactly what we need to fix it.
